Social Psychology is about the phenomena of social behavior. It attracts a lot of attention because it is about the events and processes that make up our daily lives. It looks at our feelings, our thoughts and our behavior, and tries to describe and explain aspects of the human condition, such as love and hate, happiness and sadness, pride and prejudice, comedy and tragedy. More than any other field of psychology, it is directly about me and you.
We live in a world that is awash with psychological analysis. We are looking to explain why someone is a good contestant on say; THE SUPERSTAR or a good prime minister, and we commonly look to their character and their relationships with other people. This analysis is carried out with varying degrees of scientific rigour and, to be fair, it rarely rises above the level of speculation and gossip. The field of scientific social psychology, however, has over 100 years of research findings to inform our understanding of social behavior.
The start of social psychology is sometimes dated to 1897 and the experimental work of Norman Triplett into the effects of cooperation and competition on performance. Triplett observed that racing cyclists achieved better times on a circuit when they had someone pacing them. In a ride of 25 miles, the average times per mile were 20% quicker when using a pacemaker on practice runs and even quicker in real competition. In his further research, he realised that, children wound fishing reels faster when there were other children also winding fishing reels in the same room.
The main concerns of social psychology commonly reflect the concerns of the time. For instance, at the end of the nineteenth century there were social concerns about the behaviour of crowds. In particular, there was increasing unrest on the part of working people against repressive social conditions, and the emergence of strategies of collective political action, such as mass strikes and demonstrations. These demonstrations frequently led to violence as police and army forces attempted to suppress them. It was during this time that Le Bon (1895/1995) carried out his research and proposed that the source of this violence lay in a kind of ‘mob psychology’.
When people were in a crowd, their individual conscience and autonomy were suppressed, and they reverted to primeval or animalistic state in which they would commit acts of aggression which were unthinkable to the same people when acting as individuals. These ideas have been challenged and developed by modern psychologists. During the middle of the twentieth century, social psychologists carried out some of the great studies that have defined the field for generations of students.
The Milgram study on obedience, the Seligman study of cult membership and the Sherif study on prejudice are just some of the many investigations that had a wide scope and have challenged the ways that we think about ourselves. For many years following these studies, social psychology largely withdrew to the laboratory and carried out clever but very narrow research. More recently, the field has been looking outwards again and dealing directly with real-life behaviour, and sometimes carrying out large -scale studies. There is alsoba strong focus on applied work looking at health behaviors and crimes.
The revolution in social communication over the last 20 years has been a new focus for social psychology. Research has looked at social networking and online behaviors that cause concern, such as bullying. One question concerns whether these digital technologies are providing opportunities for new behaviors or whether we are carrying out the same behaviors we always did but in a new environment.
I thought I should greet him for showing respect, but he did not answer my salutation. All he could do was look up at me with a strange face. Out of shame, I passed quickly, just to get out of that disgrace. I am actually a shy person and so when that scene happened, I was very hurt – I looked like a dumb person. A few days later, this 50-year-old man who had previously done this to me also met a similar scene where he greeted his boss in the office and the answer went awry. Therefore, he complained bitterly to his office colleagues that he was put to shame by his boss in the presence of other subordinates. Actually, greetings are not binding actions that should be given to anyone you meet.
If you greet someone, whether you know him or not, it will, in some sense, bring joy to you (the one greeting) and the recipient. Offering such greetings will help both of you in the sense that you will have the opportunity to get to know yourselves. However, if there are secrets, you can share them. And there is the possibility that one might even hint you of a plan against you that your enemy might have planned. Greetings are signs of respect shown to neighbors, friends, family, etc.
Unfortunately, many people feel questioned or troubled to greet and are therefore not interested in these actions. As previously agreed, this action is not enforced, but voluntary. You can choose to be selective in your regard. It’s up to you to decide, but to be on the safe side, it’s good to say hello! to every known or unknown person you meet.
My name is Armanda Osei and you can choose to take my advise or not. It is not binding.
The Russian economy is one of the strongest in terms of financial stability. The country’s real GDP growth exceeded expectations in 2018, reaching 2.3 percent. This is mainly due to the one-time effects of energy development. For the following year (2019), growth forcasted was 1.2 percent in and 1.8 percent in 2020 and 2021 is estimated, reflecting a rather modest prospect. Credit activity began to recover, but the banking sector continued to be influenced by high levels of concentration and sovereignty dominance. Fortunately, the rise of the digital economy has made e-wallet popular in Russia recently.
High-technology has played an important role in the country’s banking sector, because most Muscovites now have some kind of electronic wallet on their smartphones. Because of the popularity of this portfolio, it is the third most popular online payment method after bank cards and online payments. Residents understand the benefits of using an electronic wallet as a payment method for goods and services.
Russia’s Traditional Bank Card
Its speed and safety has attracted the attention of many Russians, and is indirectly eliminating the use of bank cards by the majority of the country’s population. At present, e-wallets are the subject of discussion in most parts of Russia and a simple way of payment. However, Yandex.Money, Qiwi and WebMoney are the famous e-wallets used by denizens.
Well, I think traditional banks in Russia need to revise their notes by looking at their customers’ interest because they can switch their portfolios from them. Especially when people have come to realize that you can just tap on your card or cellphone and instantly, a transaction is done. And apparently, e-wallet transactions are easily and quickly done without additional costs.
Sexual harassment has become a big problem in all areas of our lives throughout the world, and the music industry is no exception. The British Music Union has reported similar undesirable progress in recent years. It is interesting how this unwelcome attack irritates most artists, but they cannot speak. The union urged all victims to come out and expose the people behind them, but all warning came without success. Nearly half of British musicians are exposed to sexual harassment in the industry, according to a new study.
What makes it all so disturbing is the fact that the Music Union polled more than 700 players and found that 48% said they experienced sexual harassment at work one way or another. This disturbed the Union why a large percentage of female victims were afraid to speak up. Courageous musicians like Madonna and Cardy B have talked about their experiences in this industry in recent years.
MadonnaCardi B
Lily Allen, one of the hottest top stars, also shared her experiences when she was sexually harassed by industry players, including a record executive, when she was drunk during an entertainment show. Of the three mentioned above, no more than 80% dare to reveal anyone. Everyone did not speak about the topic. Many women in industry have one way or the other been sexually attacked, raped by their team members, harassed by their team members and threatened that their careers will end if they did not give in to these advances. Because of this, many of these girls’ careers ended on the road.
There are too many cases of talented musicians, especially young artists or aspirants, who completely left the industry because of sexism, or sexual harassment. Widespread acceptance began to exceed expectations, which is why the British industry stakeholders introduced more systems to protect perpetrators of violence than victims. The union have proposed a number of steps to strengthen and clarify the law so that everyone affected by this heinous behavior is expressly protected.
Unfortunately, those who survived these attacks often couldn’t speak because the consequences for their career or their personal lives will be affected.
I drove straight to the gas station when I realized that my car was vibrating. I suspected that I was out of fuel. Just when I entered the gas station, a young woman came up to me and said: “Please, sir, we are very sorry, but we are out of fuel. If you can go somewhere else, it will be a good decision.” I turned around to leave. She approached the car and said again, thank you for understanding me!
Meanwhile, I had gone to another gas station before I drove here. And the reaction of the attendant, was way below standard and terrible. The man who was the station employee was idlely relaxing as he stared at me with a strange expression that shows that there was no fuel at the station. Shifting your attention back to the well mannered lady, I felt touched by what she did. At least I was relieved after the stress of pressure to fill my fuel pump. I drove away quickly and thanked her for the good job mannerisms.
Three months later, I visited a newly opened gas station, which was only meters from the previous gas station. And before I got there, I was surprised, there was a big queue. I asked one of the people in the queue if there was a special discount for gasoline, because I was shocked of what I saw. He told me that there was nothing at stake, but the gas station attendant was their reason for being involved – her respect for people was unthinkable. I was very eager to see who this woman was and what could be the reason for such large customers.
As I lined up in my car, I pulled my neck to see the woman serving the customers, but one of them had more people than all four. I got out of my car and headed straight for her. Here, that is the same woman I met with so much work etiquettes a few months ago. As usual, she smiled at me and said, “Hello, sir, you are here too, welcome and please enter the queue, I will immediately serve you.” I was very happy for her. So she is the reason for this queue? I asked myself.
This time I was no longer surprised, especially knowing who she is. This is nothing new to me, because apart from her beautiful smile, the two words: PLEASE AND THANK YOU, do all the miracles for her. These two words are very powerful, but many people don’t realize that it is necessary to pay attention to them. Our little courtesy can even change our balance Profit and Loss Account to the better. Thank you and Please don’t kill, but it is very difficult for so many people to share with colleagues, customers, employees, employers, and all others involved in the field of life.
Being grateful can change someone’s behavior as much as it can also change someone’s impressions about you. Many companies have made a lot of money because of their employees. Employees who do not joking around these two words. For someone to show you more love, it depends on how much you value these two words. And if those simple words are always disappearing in your mouth, what else can you say? Of course everyone wants to be pampered one way or the other and this is a possibility for that.
It’s a shame to see an armed robber who killed a family of four people, and then in court, by order of a higher authority, the culprit is released on basis that he has a relationship with an influential person in society. He was found not guilty of charges. In a similar scenario, a woman was arrested on suspicion of theft, but was immediately charged and immediately put behind bars.
Meanwhile, a rapist was caught red-handed and brought to court, but during the deed, an innocent man urinating near the incident rushed to the scene to save the victim. Unfortunately, he was also arrested on the spot in connection with what happened. Both were sentenced to 20 years in prison. So you ask yourself the millionaire question: how can this world be so ‘sick’? There are thousands and unjust scenarios that state that this world is truly unfair.
We live in a fallen world, that’s the first thing we need to know. Not as it should be. The strong exploits the weak, the rich exploits the poor, the evil exploits the gullible, the vulnerable, and so on. We may choose good or evil, but it’s good there is always a law that protects the innocent. The question is: does the law even brings the required justice all the time?
Many good people suffer, which of course they do not expect. And it is very difficult and painful to accept such situations, but you have no choice. Those who usually go through such pain sometimes see the world as very strange and probably a world turned upside down. They believe that everything possible must be done to improve humanity, but apparently not. Because of greed, power and passion for lust, bad people always rise to the top with the best things, as against the good or innocent people. According to Vox Pops compiled, consisting of various countries, the system is indeed not beneficial to good people. Who and what makes the world all evil? It is the same humans who cause pains and sufferings to ourselves, making the world very unbearable for some people.
However, other schools of thought believe that the above has not been proven. In the understanding of the true God, he has given us special rights and free will to be wise and vigilant, so that we do not fall prey to godless people and do not exceed our limits in our activities.
According to the Sikh and Christian scriptures, bad people might succeed today by tricking the gullible, but one day they will all be brought to justice. Others also feel in vain to believe that bad people will one day be condemned and that in one way or another they keep ‘hunting’ the innocent.
The Wicked Always Comes With Three Faces
The Christian Bible answers all our questions, but that might not be the answer we want. The same Bible talks about how Jeremiah asked God why the way of the wicked prosper and all unbelievers lived at ease. In another Bible verse, Ecclesiastes also says in verse 8:14, “There is something unimportant that happens on earth: the righteous get what the wicked deserves, and the wicked also get what the righteous get, confirming our discussion of the World may be designed to be unjust to the good people, while the bad always accept what they want. So can we say that the wicked or godless are blessed while the good ones are rather termed evil?
Some wealthy people in the community trust their wealth and therefore do not respect the poor and vulnerable. They always oppress and manipulate the poor in various ways for their benefit. Additionally, they also have a way out of their sins compared to the poor, who always beg for something they have never even done. The wicked actually don’t really care about what Jesus said, that our first priority is to store treasure in heaven. Of course, in some cases, you only want evil for the person who hurt you so much. Therefore, when you see the same person making progress in life, you cannot understand how unfair the world is.
Other schools of thought also believe that the law of karma is the most perfect form of truth where perfect payback is made for every action at the right time. According to the law of karma, bad things happen to people either in response or as a result of bad karma that they may have done in the past. And in usual cases, good things also happen to good people if they do something good that they might have done well in the past. Unfortunately, some people still don’t understand that law.
The law of karma is an absolute law and gives perfect results from every action at the right time. God punishes His children for their sins without prejudice.
The funny part of this is that, it can take years for the exact situation you wanted to happen to a bad person to materialise. Others also believe that God does not allow humans to suffer. Humans themselves are the only cause of their suffering or joy in this world. That has nothing to do with God. If you suffer, it is a karmic reaction to something bad that you yourself have done in a previous life. If you enjoy it, it is a karmic reaction to something good that you have done.
Krishnas also believes that: A person who is not jealous, but friendly to all living beings, who does not consider himself superhuman and is free from an equal false ego in happiness and suffering, tolerant, always satisfied, controlled and determined, committed to devotional service, are the simples principles to wealth and freedom from life sufferings.
Bad people can be very cunning. So if your friend always praises you, beware. He may dangerously be doing it outside a hidden agenda as it can push your ego inward. The enemy is a true friend who always criticizes your sin for developing a caring attitude towards you.
Most of the world’s population believes that the world prefers bad people in many cases. Even atheists know this, but they still blame God in the case of unnecessary tragic suffering. They do not understand God’s infinite goodness when it comes to changing souls for better development.
This is a clear indication that God does not rule the earth, but the devil (Satan) does. This statement is supported or justified by the Christian quote Luke 4: 5 which says: The devil led him up to a high place and showed him all the kingdoms of the world…
Because of this, people come to the conclusion that this alone confirms why bad people are favoured by the world.
Does this end the discussion that the World favours the wicked? Let’s talk more!!
In 2018, every visitor, especially US passport holders traveling to Belarus via Minsk International Airport, was permitted to enter the country at any time without problems, because there was no visa required for up to 30 days. And the 30 day period included the day of arrival and departure for tourism or business purposes. As a tourism ambassador, I took advantage of this extraordinary opportunity and visited the Belarus’s Brest fortress. At least when I arrived here, besides the main reason for my visit, I also enjoyed the much talked about sweets, both from Belarus and the Soviet.
On arrival, my first question to the tour assistant was: “Has there been a war here ? I asked because I saw evidence in this beautiful scene”. And the answer was simple. “Yes, that was during the Second World War of 1939” he said. That concluded my question about this. Brest, a city in Belarus on the Polish border, was conquered by Germany in 1939 during the Polish invasion. After this takeover, the fort was handed over to the Soviets under an agreement to split Poland between the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany.
Germany was under the NSDAP regime of Adolf Hitler between 1933-1945. This vanquish surprised the entire Belarus country. The Soviet Union itself was also stunned because it was not a preliminary agreement. In 1941, when the same fierce Germans invaded Russia, the fort became one of the biggest battles in the early days of Operation Barbarossa.
The attack came without warning. Adolf Hitler, the man behind this invasion, started it without officially declaring war. It was like a fast lightning, and the garrison army wasn’t ready to be surprised that way, but they still fought. This fight lasted a week and the losses were so high. After the attack, all bridges were torn down at the bow, so the fortress lost its value. Because of this, the contingent who wanted to take control of the fort had time to overthrow their defenders. In fact, Brest Fort was completely isolated, surrounded by Germans, who asked their defenders to retire and surrender.
The Main Building Of The Fortress
Far from the whole story, when I entered the castle, which was beautifully built for tourists, I saw several inscriptions on the wall, including “I’m dying, but I’m not giving up!” This was a touching writing for me that will perhaps, break anyone for a minute.
Several inhabitants from various countries around the world toured around this large and strange man-made creative building. This is where researchers, economists, military experts, and many people visit to know more about the Brest Fortress of Belarus. Due to the impact the fortress has made in terms of tourism, in 2017, authorities collaborated with the Russian state, to open three new Community exhibition spaces to accommodate more people.
This creation was funded by both, the Belarus Tourism Authirity (BelTA) and the government. The three new halls cost 319.2 million rubles and were destined to carry out the 16 activities listed in the project “Major repairs, restoration and preservation of the structure of the Brest Fortress” in 2018-2020. Brest fort authorities will soon add a new museum exhibition. Therefore visitors can visit the 98th Artillery Division recreation center from 1939 to 1941. Visitors will also have the opportunity to take a walk in the exhibition hall and basement.
The Brest Fortress also has a beautiful Courage monument that stands 33.5m high and tells the story of the heroic defence of the fortress through a series of carvings. There is an eternal flame which is guarded by 4 teenagers from the Pioneers Corps. There is also an Eternal Fire in front of the remnants of the former engineering department. Further into the Fortress, you will find the iconic Kholmsky Gate, with its bullet-riddled walls.
Getting Here:
Excursions in Brest Fortress is best reached on foot. It is about a 30-minute walk from the centre of Brest city. Alternatively there is an hourly bus service from the town and you can stay in one of the many Brest rooms available as a long distance visitor.
As one of the most popular tourist attractions in Belarus, it welcomes nearly 40,000 visitors every year. If you are thinking of visiting, don’t hesitate and try it in this safe environment. In fact, all the big roads are wide and bright when its even gets darker. So you can feel safe even at night in the capital city of Belarus. Of course, safety is high but you are advised to take security precautions when visiting.
Regardless of what humans think, depression will be a part of us until the end of time. It’s been there since creation and no one can delete it completely. However, we can reduce its wide extension. Following from above, Kalulis are a specific group of people who experience depression and are able to treat their symptoms. Yes, they also suffer from more stressful life events, just like any other people (high infant mortality, death and parasitic infections, etc.).
However, they have their own special way of lowering this psychological behavior than almost every civilized population on earth.
An Anthropologist, who was preoccupied with all these stories, doubted that this population could control depression so easily like that. So in 1986 he quickly moved to a mountainous area on the island of Papua, an Oceania country to investigate the spread of depression. In his research, he found that in fact nearly 2,000 inhabitants of the Kaluli tribe did not experience depression except for an old man who had this problem.
Kalulis, as they are called, are so unique that they are not even interested in whether there is medical treatment for depression or not. They lived happily after their normal lives. They were always able to visualize a happy future.
So how did these Papuans deal with depression as and when they come? Interestingly, their secret lies in their habits, especially in Exercising and hobbyism. Almost every Kaluli resident conducts activities to develop their skills or abilities and specifically to prevent depression. They had enough engagements every day compared to most of the population in other countries. According to a number of studies, exercise as an antidepressant is most effective in the treatment of depression. And that’s what these people practiced.
Getting ready to go on their usual busy schedule
Exercising and getting busy is one of the fastest ways to kill depression. But remember that depressed people don’t even have the energy they need to move. If you can’t find something to do, one of the best ways to engage yourself is to go for a walk with a friend if you don’t fancy going alone. When you go talking with your friends or whoever you are doing this with, you reactivate parts of your brain that might go offline during depression. No need to be walking fast, but slowly, maybe with a bottle of water in your hands. This exercise can be done three or four times a week. And the results are amazing.
Another major cause of depression is hobbyism. Attach something that you find very interesting. For example, writing, playing soccer, sword fighting, basketball, collecting stamps from one city to the other, etc. All of this allows you to get rid of negative thoughts outside your head and keep you entertained as well. They are good for preventing depression. Residents in the highlands of New Guinea (the Papuans) had the sense to kill depression with these two practices (exercising and hobbyism). Always remember that Negative cyclic thinking is always associated with depression.
Music is dynamic and changes with the years and seasons. There are genres of music, and for reasons of dynamism, it would not be surprising to wake up one morning and hear a number of other genres that complement existing ones. Known and widely used genres include Afro Pop, Country, Soul, Funk, Jazz, Calypso, Rhythmz & Blues (R&B), Reggae, Reggae Dancehall. It is obvious that most people continue to listen to music, not only because of the genre, but also because of its masterpiece. And if you want more of these outstanding creative works, then Ghana’s Hi-Life music is one of them.
Obviously, one of the bands that sold this genre around the world is Osibisa, a Ghanaian group that brought Hi-Life beyond Africa to the world’s living room with thrilling performances. Agya Koo Nimo, Nana Kwame Ampadu and Afro Moses are some of the Hi-Life superstars who have made this genre very popular.
At a pure white party, a Canadian couple happily danced their hearts out to this genre of music (Hi-Life), and after the party, they walked straight to the Disc Jockey (DJ) what kind of music it is. The DJ answered with words: This is Music Made in Africa, infact Ghanaian Hi-Life music.
Hi-Life originated in Ghana in the early 20th century and has been a British colony throughout its history. This is a unique music genre that still exists today. In Ghana and on the African continent, Hi-Life is recognized as one of the best music genres. Initially, it was considered only for high class people because of the mature and deep lyrical content. Today the youth join in admiration. In fact, there are other forms of pop music that was very common before Hi-Life. It’s called Palm Wine Music. This form of music is played by guitar and concertina. This is very common in rural Ghana. It’s actually a combination not only from the guitar and concertina, but also from the drum (boxdrum and music video) plus fine vocals. It is usually made in places where palm wine or akpeteshis (local brandys) are sold. Through this local performance, Palm Wine Music gradually developed into a larger guitar group and even appeared in popular theater shows.
George Darko, one of Ghana’s Highlife Superstars
Many people are addicted to Hi-Life because of the use of melodic and rhythmic structures of traditional music of Asante music. It is played with western instruments. This music lives on from the story and love of authentic Africa. The resulting rhythm is phenomenal, which is why it was quickly adopted by the majority of African families in the 1950s.
Hi-Life music features jazz horns and several guitars that lead the band. Lately it has received synchronous sound. When you listen to these songs, there is no doubt that you will immediately fall in love with them because of the beautiful vocal abilities behind them.
History
In the 1920s, Ghanaian musicians recorded foreign influences, including slow and fast rhythms and Calypso with Ghana rhythms. Associated with local African aristocracy during the colonial era, Hi-Life has been played by many bands, including jazz kings, Cape Coast Sugar Babies and the Accra Orchestra along the coast.
It’s amazing that high class members who enjoyed music in certain clubs at that time gave this music the name. Dance orchestra director Yebua Mensa (Mensa’s older brother), told music expert John Collins in 1973 that the term Hi-Life was a catch-phrase for local songs played at the clubs of early dance bands such as Jazz Kings, Sugar Babies of Cape Coast, Secondi Nanshamang and then the Accra orchestra.
Interestingly, during club days in Ghana, some people outside the club called it Hi-Life because they were not synonymous with the high-profile personalities who joined the club. These people couldn’t afford the relatively high entrance fee of around seven shillings and six pence. And all they could say was, “These guys are really having a High Class -Lifestyle,” thus the name Hi-Life.
Since the 1930s, Highlife has spread through Sierra Leone, Liberia, Nigeria and Gambia and other West African countries where Hi-Life has become increasingly popular. A year later (1940), Hi-Life music split into two separate streams: the highlife dance group and the highlife guitar group.
Guitar Band Hilife featured small group of bands and were most commonly found in rural areas. During the tour through the landscape, these Hi-Life musicians combined instruments such as “Seprewa” and guitars with their bands to add high-end sound. Other traditional African instruments, such as Harpe-Harp-Lute and Gankogul Bell, were combined with European harmony and guitar when people express themselves through this song. One band that performed almost everywhere during that time was the Guitar Band Hi-Life. The group, who could sing with drums and claves, was led by the great singer E.K Nyame and his trio of Akan. And these people released more than 400 recordings, making it one of the most popular siding bands out there. In contrast, another band, the Dance Band Hi-Life, was anchored in an urban environment with an appalling Hi-Life performance.
Shortly after the war, foreign troops began to move from Ghana to their country, so the mainstream audience and the music changed according to their taste.
Legendary American musician Louis Armstrong was invited to Ghana and played in May 1956 with Ghana’s own E.T. Mensah in Accra. This collaboration catapulted his name to the world and earned him the nickname “The King of Highlife”.
There were a number of other Hi-Life bands that entertained audiences in the 1950s with good tunes. These include King Bruce, leader of the Black Beats, Red Spots, Rhythm Aces, Rambler International Band and the Broadway group Uhuru.
Between the 1970s and 1980s, a new generation of hi-life superstars also wore early legendary robes and performed very well. Some of these artists still perform and produce very good singles and albums. The following artists have created brilliant Hi-Life melody sounds:
Thomas Frimpong

This is a gradual evolution of the current Hi-Life in Ghana.
Hi-Life is traditional African music combined with pleasant rhythms. And many music researchers, including British-born guitarist, accordionist and drummer John Collins,
endorsed it.
So I’m not surprised to hear that guitarist Sonny Sharrock has a song called “Highlife” on his 1990 album. Craig Harris (trombone) also had a song called “High Life” in 1993 on his album F-Stops.

According to the Sikh and Christian scriptures, bad people might succeed today by tricking the gullible, but one day they will all be brought to justice. Others also feel in vain to believe that bad people will one day be condemned and that in one way or another they keep ‘hunting’ the innocent.
